Sitakunda Shankar Math is a historical and traditional spiritual center located at the foot of the Sitakunda Chandranath hill in Chittagong district of Bangladesh. History
The history of Sitakunda Shankara Math is deeply intertwined with the Dashmanami Sannyasi tradition introduced by Adi Shankaracharya. This Math was established following the ideals and traditions of the famous 'Govardhana Peetham' located in Puri, India. In the early 20th century, the activities of the Math took formal shape in this holy land of Sitakunda with the efforts of saints and monks. This Math has been working as a major center for ages to keep the spiritual consciousness of the followers of Sanatan Dharma awake and to spread the message of Vedanta.
How to get there
First, take a train or bus from Dhaka, Khulna, or other locations to reach Chattogram city. From there, you can take a Chattogram-bound bus to reach Sitakunda Bazar. From Sitakunda Bazar, the math (monastery) can be easily reached by rickshaw or on foot.
