The Nalchira Lower Navadwip Sri Sri Hari and Durga Temple is a historic public religious and social institution located in Nalchira village, Gournadi Upazila, Barishal. Every year, the Sharadiya Durga Puja is celebrated here with religious solemnity, joy, and communal harmony. This temple is not merely a place of worship; it serves as an important center for the gathering, cultural activities, and social harmony of the local Hindu community. The land for our temple was donated by members Babu Alok Banik and Babu Shanti Ranjan Adhikari. The main temple building was constructed with the support of donor member Babu Bankim Banik (Babu), while Babu Tapas Banik contributed as a donor member for the temple's renovation, development, and the construction of the main entrance gate.

How to get there
By Road (Bus) Board any Barishal-bound bus (such as Sakura, Hanif, or Green Line) from Dhaka (Gabtoli/Sayedabad) and disembark at Gournadi or Mahilara in Barishal. From there, you can reach the temple within 10 to 20 minutes via an easy-bike, motorbike, CNG auto-rickshaw, van, or rickshaw.
By River (Launch) Board a Barishal-bound launch from Dhaka Sadarghat Launch Terminal and get down at Barishal Launch Ghat. From the launch terminal, head to the nearby bus stand and take a local bus to Mahilara or Gournadi. From there, you can reach the Nalchira Temple premises directly (adjacent to the historic Nalchira Bazar) by easy-bike, motorbike, CNG auto-rickshaw, van, or rickshaw.
