About
History
The history of this sanctuary dates back to 1899 (1306 BS), when Sri Rudra Tridandi Tripuralinga Swami Maharaj, a disciple of the great yogi Trailanga Swami, established an ashram here . The area was subsequently named 'Swamibag' after him . In 1902, dedicated Shiva and Kali temples were constructed within the premises.
Decades later, on February 19, 2000, the then-sebait (custodian) Sri Yashoda Nandan Acharya officially handed over the management and maintenance of the historic ashram to ISKCON Bangladesh. Since then, it has transformed into a major modern spiritual complex.
