How to suggest a mandir

The guided form is designed for mobile phones and guests. You only need a Bengali name, at least one current photo, and a confirmed district to begin.

Before you start

Search the mandir directory first. The form also checks for possible duplicates before it accepts a new suggestion, so review any matches it shows you.

The three simple steps

Add the Bengali name, and photos if you have them
Enter the name shown on the mandir signboard. Clear, current photos help a great deal and speed up verification, but they are optional — English name is optional too.
Each JPG, PNG, or WebP image can be up to 10 MB. The server verifies, strips metadata, and safely re-encodes accepted images as WebP.

Choose the easiest location method
Use your current location when you are at or near the mandir, search or place a pin on the map, or write the address manually. All three options remain visible.
Whichever method you use, confirm the district. Upazila, union, para or moholla, and landmark help moderators but are optional.

Add optional details and review
Add deity names, established year, history, or private contact details if you know them. Review the name, photos, and location, then submit.
If possible matches appear, open them first. Only choose “submit anyway” when none is the same mandir.

Photo requirements

Photos are optional. If you add any, each one must upload and finish processing; a filename or temporary key alone does not count.
Choose JPG, PNG, or WebP. HEIC, GIF, PDF, and other file types are not accepted.
Use a clear exterior, signboard, shrine, or identifiable view. Avoid screenshots, unrelated images, and heavily edited photos.
Original EXIF and GPS metadata are removed during server processing. Only sanitized WebP evidence is kept for moderation.

Common questions

Is a photo required?

Yes. At least one of up to three selected images must upload and pass server processing. If every photo fails, no suggestion is created.

Do I have to be at the mandir?

No. Use current location only when you are at or near the mandir. Otherwise choose the pin on the map or write a meaningful address manually.

Do I need an account?

No. Guests can submit a mandir. Optional contact details help moderators ask a question and are not displayed publicly.

What happens if the mandir may already exist?

The form shows possible published mandirs and open suggestions. Check them, then submit with an explicit confirmation only when none is the same place.
